Ljutomer lies along the Ščavnica River, surrounded by vineyards, gentle hills, and plains stretching toward the Austrian border. My Approach to Photography in Ljutomer
In Ljutomer and Prlekija, I love working in a natural documentary style with artistic touches. The soft light over the vineyards and the flat landscape allows me to create airy, cinematic, and warm photographs. During preparations, I capture intimate moments in beautiful rooms of estates or hotels – morning light on the bride’s dress, details of shoes near an old wooden cabinet, or a bouquet featuring local flowers and vines. During the ceremony, I focus on genuine emotional expressions, while in the afternoon and evening I step away with the couple for romantic portraits among the vines or near the hippodrome. A special charm of Prlekija lies in its people and atmosphere – guests are relaxed, joyful, and love celebrating with good music and wine. This is reflected in the photographs: spontaneous dancing, laughter around tables, hugs, and authentic moments that do not need to be staged.
In Ljutomer, I mostly work with natural light, which is soft and flattering, especially at sunset over the vineyards. I use bright lenses that allow me to work both indoors in old cellars and outdoors in nature. In post-production, I emphasize warm golden and green vineyard tones, earthy farmhouse colors, and gentle pastel hues that reflect the character of Prlekija.
