Wedding photographer Orehov Gaj
As a wedding photographer, I love locations that combine nature, elegance and practicality in one place. Orehov Gaj is exactly that kind of gem – a unique event space in nature, just a short drive from the centre of Ljubljana, offering a magical setting for modern, relaxed and stylistically refined weddings.
Orehov Gaj is located at Obrije 35, only about two kilometres from Ljubljana’s main shopping centre. Despite its proximity to the city, it feels like a true natural oasis with a large green estate surrounded by walnut trees, meadows, small woodland areas and modern outdoor surfaces. The property is designed as a hybrid between rustic and modern. Wooden structures, open spaces, natural shade from trees and plenty of room for larger guest groups create ideal conditions for weddings of up to a thousand people. My approach to photographing at Orehov Gaj
At Orehov Gaj I prefer a light, natural and documentary style with artistic touches. Because the location is open and green, the images feel airy, soft and full of freedom. During preparations I like capturing intimate moments in the bridal suite or outdoors – morning light passing through the trees, dress details on a wooden bench or a bouquet with local flowers.
During the ceremony I focus on genuine emotional expressions, guests’ reactions, tears and smiles. After the formal part, I take the couple for romantic portraits, including walks across the meadows, embraces under the walnut trees and natural, relaxed movement without forced posing.
During the party I capture spontaneous moments among guests, outdoor dancing, evening lights and genuine laughter. The special charm of Orehov Gaj is that the wedding feels both elegant and relaxed at the same time. Guests can move freely across the estate, children run on the grass while adults enjoy conversations under the trees. This creates lively, authentic photographs full of real energy.
